Pete Ingram and Yuchen Liu win September Modern Regionals

Ingram won Baltimore with Mono-Green Broodscale; Liu earned a second straight regional title in Hangzhou with Esper Goryo’s Vengeance.

Two Modern Regional Championships produced different winning approaches on the same weekend. Pete Ingram took the Baltimore title with Mono-Green Basking Broodscale combo, defeating Curtis Lam’s Devoted Druid deck in a three-game final. In Hangzhou, Yuchen Liu won his second consecutive Regional Championship, this time

with Esper Goryo’s Vengeance; Magic.gg reports he beat Steven Li’s Izzet Prowess in the final. The outcomes give Modern players two complete tournament lists to compare: Ingram’s green combo build and Liu’s Esper reanimator strategy. Baltimore drew around 1,500 players while Hangzhou had more than 400. It describes Liu’s repeat win as the first back-to-back Regional Championship title in the circuit’s history.
