Old Iron launches in Early Access with mining chains and meteor defence

Old Iron opened Early Access on October 31 with a mining and logistics loop built around a lone pilot and an ageing vessel. Players dig through procedurally generated layers, transport increasingly valuable ore back to their ship and defend their operation during meteor showers. The initial build includes a production
chain connecting extraction, smelting, assembly and construction. Conveyors, automatic miners, furnaces, laboratories and reactors support that process, while shields and turrets handle timed defensive encounters. Two relics, Resonance Mining and Meteor Harvest, can be discovered in wreck tiles. The developer describes
this release as an early playable framework, with art, audio and some interface panels still unfinished. Balance will continue changing, but the announcement commits to keeping existing saves loadable. Seven languages are supported, including English, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
