Mythscribe is Back — New Home, New Foundation, Same Spirit

After our first build, PHP at mythscribe.net, we've rebuilt from the ground up and relaunched at mythscribe.cloud. Here's what's new and what stays the same.

Mythscribe began as a PHP project at mythscribe.net — a humble attempt to build a space where book lovers, film watchers, gamers, and TV bingers could track their journeys through stories. It was rough around the edges, honest, and personal. Then life happened. The server went quiet. The old address faded. But the idea

never did. Today, we're back — relaunched at mythscribe.cloud and rebuilt from the ground up on a modern, purpose-built stack. What changed This isn't a patch job on the old PHP site. Mythscribe has been rewritten entirely in TypeScript, with a proper API, a real database schema, and infrastructure that can actually

scale. A few things that are genuinely new: Gamification that means something. Earn XP when you complete works, write reviews, or track progress. Level up your Character Sheet. Build stats — Intelligence, Strength, Endurance, Charisma, Dexterity, Agility — that reflect what you've actually done. Unlock achievements

with real lore behind them. Campfire. A personal journal built into the app. Write entries about what you're reading, watching, or playing — link them to specific works, set a mood, keep them private or share with your circle. It's the thing the old site always needed and never had. Circles. Private and public groups

for reading clubs, watch parties, and gaming crews. Post updates, coordinate reads, and keep the conversation in one place. Quests and Challenges. Structured goals that give shape to your year. Accept a quest to read 25 books, or set a challenge target and track it week by week. A real catalogue. Powered by

OpenLibrary, TMDB, IGDB, and Google Books. Import any book, film, show, or game in seconds. Series linking, edition picking, relationship graphs — it's all there. Public profiles. Share your library and stats at /u/yourhandle. Let people see what you've been into. What stayed the same The spirit. Mythscribe has never

been about engagement metrics, endless feeds, or algorithmic manipulation. It's about your stories — what you've read, what you're watching, what you want to explore next. No dark patterns. No infinite scroll. No engagement traps. Just a library that's yours. What's coming We have a lot planned: World Forge — Tools for
