The Hobbit on MTG Arena: September events and Mastery rewards

The Hobbit's MTG Arena Draft events run to September 29. Check September dates, the free Welcome Deck Duels option and how free Mastery rewards differ from the paid pass.

Checked September 8, 2026. Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit launched on MTG Arena on August 11. Its September calendar still offers several ways to play, including an event with no entry fee. Which events are available in September? The official event schedule lists: Through September 29: The Hobbit Premier, Pick-Two

and Traditional Draft, plus Welcome Deck Duels. The latter uses two premade decks and has no entry fee. September 8: the listed final date for The Hobbit Sealed. Check the in-game deadline before entering. September 11–13: The Hobbit Limited Open. September 16–18: The Hobbit Phantom Quick Draft in Midweek Magic.

September 23–25: The Hobbit Phantom Sealed in Midweek Magic. The August Quick Draft and Collector Booster Arena Direct windows have ended. The Play Booster Arena Direct window ended September 6; the Lord of the Rings flashback Draft ended September 7. These are dated schedule entries, not live availability guarantees:

Free Mastery rewards and the paid pass Wizards' Mastery details describe a free track through level 42, with 21 Hobbit packs and five Mastery Orbs. Orbs can be exchanged for selected avatars or card styles. The optional paid pass adds a separate

reward track: 20 packs across five sets, ten Hobbit mythic rare individual card rewards, 4,000 gold, 1,200 gems and a Player Draft token, alongside cosmetics and Dwarf companions.
