Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit reaches its global tabletop release today, August 14, opening the set's full retail window after prerelease events and the August 11 MTG Arena launch. Wizards of the Coast's product page frames the set around Bilbo's journey, from the Dwarves and Elves he meets to the riddles, songs,
and treasure beneath the Lonely Mountain. That gives the release two clear entry points: a new draft and Commander environment for players, and a deep set of Middle-earth treatments for collectors. The release window is bigger than launch day The global tabletop date is the start of a run of organised-play moments
rather than a single flashpoint. Wizards lists Standard Showdown events from August 14 through September 24, 2HG Commander from August 14–24, and a later Commander Party window from August 21–27. Local stores remain the authority for registration, stock, and exact event times. Digital players already have the same
world on MTG Arena, while tabletop players can now choose Play Boosters, Draft Night, Bundles, Collector Boosters, Gift Bundles, and scene boxes. Gold Smaug the Magnificent treatment. Wizards says roughly 500 were printed in Collector Boosters, with the English-language card available inside Collector Boosters of any language.
