Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit debut opens a new preview journey
Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit debuts at MagicCon: Amsterdam today, with an official panel, a month of previews, and an August 14 tabletop release ahead.
Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit makes its public debut at MagicCon: Amsterdam today, July 18, beginning the main preview run for Wizards of the Coast's return to Middle-earth. The debut is more than a single card reveal. Wizards says the panel will stream on the official Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel, while
the wider preview schedule runs through the end of July and leads into the set's global tabletop release on August 14. What the debut sets up The set takes players back to Bilbo's journey, with cards drawn from the places, characters, and turning points of The Hobbit . The official product page highlights Dwarves,
Trolls, Elves, riddles in the dark, and the treasure beneath the Lonely Mountain, while also positioning the set for both play and collection. That split matters for how the set reaches players. Play Boosters and Draft Night are aimed at table play, while Collector Boosters, bundles, and scene boxes give collectors
several ways to approach the same Middle-earth setting. Wizards also says the set is available to preorder through local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon, and other Magic retailers. The preview schedule continues after Amsterdam The official schedule lists the July 18 debut first, followed by daily previews from Magic
creators, specialist outlets, and community channels beginning July 20. The complete card image gallery is scheduled for July 31, so the shape of the set will keep changing throughout the next two weeks rather than arriving all at once. The staggered plan gives players time to see mechanics and characters before
prerelease events run from August 7 to 13. The digital release on MTG Arena follows on August 11, three days before the global tabletop launch. Watch the official debut The Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit debut streams on the official Magic YouTube channel. The panel is the first stop for the new card reveals, while
Wizards' preview page remains the clearest place to follow the full creator schedule and the August release milestones.
