IEM Cologne 2027 expands its arena playoffs to four days

ESL outlines an eight-team playoff bracket and a central stage for next summer’s event.

ESL has detailed a larger arena phase for IEM Cologne 2027. Its October 1 tournament update introduces an eight-team single-elimination playoff bracket spread over four days, with competition in the arena beginning on Thursday. The LANXESS Arena will use a central stage surrounded by spectators. The expanded bracket

brings two additional quarterfinals to the crowd, and ESL also plans a third-place match before the grand final. The full Counter-Strike tournament runs August 4–15, 2027, with every stage held on LAN. Invitations will use the first monthly Valve Regional Standings publication in June, while seeding will use July’s

first monthly publication. Those are future qualification checkpoints; the announcement does not name the eventual field. Read the official source. Image: ESL FACEIT Group.
