Netflix's trailer starts with Gen living in a public park and trying to force his way back onto auditions and film sets, one background part at a time. The joke has a sharp edge: an actor who built his

life on being known has to work out who he is when recognition disappears. The official preview also introduces Tetsu Okamoto, played by Kento Kaku, a playwright in a creative slump who works at a sauna while running a theatre troupe. Kenichi Matsuyama plays a chief assistant director confronting the grind of

production, and Yoh Yoshida plays Gen's former wife and talent-agency head. Together, those characters suggest a comedy about work and status across several levels of the entertainment industry, though the trailer cannot establish how the full series develops them. Kankuro Kudo wrote the series, with Fuminori Kaneko,

Takuya Sakaue and Atsushi Watanabe directing, according to Netflix's announcement.
