Sony Pictures Classics has released the US teaser for Bunker, Florian Zeller’s psychological thriller starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz. The distributor’s announcement sets an awards-qualifying run in selected cities from December 11, 2026, followed by a nationwide US opening on January 15, 2027. Bardem plays
Miguel, a London architect considering a wealthy client’s commission to design a survivalist bunker. Cruz plays Sofia, his wife of seventeen years, who begins questioning their relationship as the project draws them into a world shaped by extreme wealth and fear. An intrusive neighbour adds another source of unease.
Paul Dano, Stephen Graham and Patrick Schwarzenegger complete the announced principal cast. Zeller both writes and directs, with the official synopsis describing emotional and moral pressures on a couple confronting an uncertain future. The teaser is a new promotional milestone ahead of the film’s US theatrical
rollout. Sony’s film page also lists festival selections at Venice, Toronto and Zurich. The December engagement is a qualifying release, so the January date remains the broader US cinema opening rather than the film’s first public screening. Source: Official announcement.
