Endgame: Encore tops its opening weekend as Marvel passes $35 billion

Disney estimates that the Avengers Endgame: Encore re-release opened with $86 million worldwide this weekend. In its September 27 report, the studio breaks that estimate into $26 million domestic and $60 million international and says the film opened at No. 1 globally. These are studio estimates, subject to final

box-office reporting. Disney says Marvel Studios' cumulative box office across 38 films reached $35.075 billion. The encore presentation includes new footage that sets up Avengers: Doomsday , which Disney dates for December 18. That gives the re-release a story connection beyond a return to the big screen.
