Arena Powered Cube adds monarch cards for September

Seven additions introduce the mechanic while Ajani and Karakas leave the cube.

Wizards’ September 8 Arena Powered Cube update introduces seven cards featuring the monarch mechanic. The changes give aggressive decks another way to sustain pressure, while the designers monitor their effect on balance. What changes Ajani, Nacatl Pariah and Karakas leave this iteration, while Parallax Wave returns.

Wizards also supports a self-mill strategy with Doomsday, Thassa’s Oracle and Tainted Pact. The format remains a 540-card singleton phantom draft: drafted cards do not enter your collection.
