5Drama will replace 5Select in the UK on October 21

Channel 5's new free-to-air drama channel arrives October 21 with UK, US and Australian series and a Home and Away rewind.

UK broadcaster 5 says its new free-to-air channel, 5Drama, will launch on October 21 and replace 5Select. The official announcement positions it as a home for the broadcaster's UK dramas alongside selected US and Australian series. The launch plan names All Creatures Great and Small , The Madame Blanc Mysteries , The

Hardacres , Ellis and Dalgliesh . 5 also plans to show Home and Away from its first episode soon after launch; the release does not give an exact start date for that rerun, so viewers should check the schedule closer to October 21. For UK viewers, 5 lists channel 33 on Freeview, 132 on Freesat, 26 on Freely, 150 on Sky

and 165 on Sky Stream and Sky Glass, where it will be called 5Drama HD. It also says 5Action moves into 5Select's former slot. Platform listings can change, so check your provider's guide at launch.
