Tokyo Game Show 2026’s five-day plan loses its final onsite day

CESA cancelled the planned September 21 onsite day; the show ran in person September 17–20, with selected official programmes continuing online.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 was originally scheduled for September 17–21 as its first five-day edition. CESA’s September 19 notice confirmed that September 20 would proceed as planned, but cancelled the September 21 Makuhari Messe event for the full day because Typhoon No. 25 threatened stronger wind and rain, transport

disruption and safe return journeys. Tickets for September 21 were eligible for refunds. The in-person event therefore ran from September 17 through September 20: business days on September 17–18 and public days on September 19–20. September 21 did not become a fifth onsite day. The organiser’s September 20 follow-up

said the official programmes scheduled for September 21 would still stream online and listed selected exhibitors’ own online announcements, streams and video archives.
