Online: 404 prepares for Early Access with its story already planned in
Solo publisher Cornfield Games targets September 25 for its co-op survival game's Early Access debut and says the story will be present from the start.
Online: 404 is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on 25 September. Developer and publisher Cornfield Games says the open-world co-op survival game will include its full story and previously announced mechanics at that point, while the team continues polishing it during Early Access. The current Steam listing still
describes the date as planned; this article does not claim the game is already unlocked. Why the studio moved its date In a developer update, Cornfield Games said demo reports helped it identify bugs and add ideas to its task list. The team moved its earlier launch plan to September 25 because it wanted more time to
bring the game to the intended state. That is useful context for players weighing an Early Access purchase: the story is intended to be present, but the studio expects further fixes and cannot predict every situation in a cooperative open world. The game's main survival tool is an in-game smartphone with a map,
flashlight, weather forecast and a searchable internet that can provide unreliable information. The premise asks how people would use familiar tools in a quarantined district, instead of assuming every survival problem has a simple crafting recipe. Steam lists solo and online co-op play. Check the store page for the
actual unlock and current language support in your territory; no first-hand play or post-launch quality claim is made here. Headline image: official Steam store capsule supplied by Cornfield Games.
