Netflix says its ad-supported plan will launch in nine more European markets next March, alongside new UK series commissions.

Netflix says its ad-supported plan will expand to nine more European markets on March 1, 2027. The company announced the date at its first UK Upfront on September 24, alongside new UK commissions and updates to its advertising tools. Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and

Switzerland are the newly named markets. Netflix also said programmatic Pause Ads will become available across partner demand-side platforms from October, and that it will add income and household composition to demographic targeting options. The programming announcements included two new commissions, Witch Hunt and

Hot or Cold , plus Blackmere , a Charlie Brooker series planned for 2027. Netflix also confirmed Black Doves season two for November 5 and showed a first look at its trailer. The release gives no premiere dates for the two new commissions. Netflix said BARB data put its ad-supported plan's UK reach at more than 14

million viewers. That figure and the company's other performance claims are attributed to Netflix's presentation; the announcement did not include a detailed methodology. Read Netflix's full UK Upfront announcement. Headline image: official Netflix UK Upfront artwork. Credit: Netflix.
