Clover Press starts Marvel Masterworks revival with four volumes

The first Kickstarter wave covers Uncanny X-Men, Super-Villain Team-Up, Thor and Tomb of Dracula in restored hardcover editions.

Clover Press has launched a Kickstarter campaign for four Marvel Masterworks hardcovers , continuing the archival comics line with a new publisher. Publishers Weekly reported the launch on September 23. The initial books are The Uncanny X-Men Vol. 18 , Super-Villain Team-Up Vol. 1 , The Mighty Thor Vol. 25 and The Tomb

of Dracula Vol. 6 . These are four different collected editions, not four new monthly comic issues. The line keeps Cory Sedlmeier as its restoration steward, Publishers Weekly reports. Clover plans multiple cover choices for each book and collectible extras. In AIPT's interview with publisher Hank Kanalz, he says the

familiar numbered design will remain an option for long-time collectors alongside a new standalone presentation. He describes this first selection as a mix of continuing the X-Men and Thor lines, completing Tomb of Dracula , and beginning Super-Villain Team-Up . That design choice matters if a buyer is matching earlier

volumes on a shelf; the four titles alone do not identify which cover or extras a pledge receives.
